It is in fact inevitable, there are days more often than others where it can be bit difficult not only get out of bed, but also once we do make it – discover that we actually also indeed woke up on the WRONG side of the bed too. Do you ever wish had a roster of a little ‘pick me up’ or two implemented into your routine to help uplift & liven the mornings a little? We’re talking life changing stuff only here! We took the time to collect a few effortless pointers/ tips to help you in making the most of your evening’s rest & even more out of the morning sunshine.
Take a Stroll,
It sounds simple (& it is), but we promise it’s the best thing you can do to clear your head and get your blood flowing when you’ve been sleeping for so long. Simply completing a few (ridiculously simple) stretches makes an enormous difference in the overall course/outcome of your day.
Take it Outside,
As difficult as it may seem to accomplish, leaving your phone/screens in a completely separate room from the one you’re sleeping in may sound like the craziest thing since the making of Beverly Hills Chihuahua II, but the difference it makes in the long run is most worth it. Remember, our phone screens are designed to illuminate the sun & keep us comfortable while scrolling. You’ll be feeling much more refreshed in the morning if you saved your latest post for the next day.
Take the Time to Know,
Knowing how much time your body actually needs is important. Anna Wintour, Editor in Chief of Vogue may only need about four hours per night whereas NFL Patriots Player Tom Brady might need to sleep 9 hours a night to catch up on all the energy expelled during a game.
No, this isn’t just an old lady’s secret for falling asleep! Melatonin is a natural hormone that our bodies generate to enliven the sleeping pattern. Brightness features on our phones in fact are actually designed to emulate the shine of sun, in turn reducing the production of melatonin.
Take the Curtain Down,
Daylight Savings? Biology designed our bodies to rise with the sun naturally, of course with many modern day innovations including alarm clocks, curtains, Twitter, PerezHilton, & Snooze buttons – things have changed over the past 100 years. Try taking your curtains down, leave the blinds open, rise with the sun (only if it’s safe & comfortable for you of course) Even if it does sound like scene out of a newly released Disney movie, make Cinderella & all of her singing animal friends proud.
Take a Swig,
Of water that is. First thing when you wake up in the morning, a glass of water not only knocks out one of your eight for the day but also will be a big boost to getting your day started on the best note.
